SONIC BURGER
We stumbled on to the brand new Sonic Burger on the way home, looking for somewhere to stop to eat b/c we were all hungry, if you can believe that. So, we pulled in to the parking lot for the Wal-Mart, and there was an employee for Sonic blocking the entrance to the restaurant. We rolled the window down to see what was going on and he asked us if we wanted a stall or if we wanted drive-up. We looked at each other (it's like after 9:30 pm now) and we said "stall". He gave us a blue sticky note and said "OK, you need to get in the first line over there." And pointed to the other end of the Wal-Mart parking lot. We started to slowly drive over that way, with our important sticky note in hand, not knowing just yet what that was going to do for us and found our 'stall' line, which was actually 2 lines side-by side. There were also 2 other simultaneous lines a few yards away for 'drive-up'. OH I forgot to mention that when we got our sticky note we also got a copy of the menu, apparently so we could keep the process moving even quicker...oh my! Well, we looked at the menu and creeped up to the front of the line. It didn't seem that long, but we WERE busy studying the menu so that made time go quicker, haha! Anyway, when we reached the front of the line, another Sonic employee pointed for us to drove to the right back towards the restaurant. And so we did. Keep in mind, we were still just a little baffled over what we were doing. First, we were just excited to be here. Second, now we couldn't just eat, we were being diverted in all directions, with a sticky note and menu?! At approx 10pm now?! So, we drove to the entrance again, and rolled down the window to see what we were supposed to do next. The employee took our BLUE sticky note and let us drive in and around the restaurant to a stall. Oh, wait, I forgot to mention that there was a 3rd line of people standing behind the restaurant waiting to walk-up and order, I guess. Very weird. By now, I was just so excited for the experience of a Sonic Burger, of which I have seen commercials for on TV for years now and finally did a search for them online to see where the nearest one was and it was well just about 100 miles away. So when we heard they had come to town, we were all over it! Well, we pulled up to the stall. And you order right of the menu/drive-up sign. There is a speaker and you just yell your order in to the guy inside. When we were finished ordering, Scott just swiped the credit card right there an Voila, someone brought our food out. It was a lot of fun and we even called Uncle Robbie while we were there to let him know we were 'experiencing' Sonic Burger at that very moment! Oh and by the way, the food was pretty good and the ice cream was AWESOME! The girls especially loved their magnifying glass toys from their meals!
