After Natalie's fun-filled afternoon with Grandparents, she was ready for a park play date with her friend and classmate, Amelia. Amelia's mom and baby brother joined us (me, Natalie, Amanda and Ryan). The kids had a blast playing. Amanda was keeping up w/the big girls and the little guys (Ry and Joey) hung out with their mommies. Ryan got in the swings too and was showing off his "I can grab my toes" trick!

Grandparent's Day @ Preschool
Papa Dan and Grandma C. were able to attend Natalie's special GRANDPARENT'S DAY LUNCHEON & celebration at preschool. They were greeted at the door by Natalie when they arrived, we got a couple of pictures and off they all went together to school. Lunch had been preordered from Froots for the grandparents and kids. Natalie loved her PB&J wrap. She was very excited to tell me that her PB&J was in a TORTILLA! Anyway, they all had a lovely day together making memories and sharing time. I love it. These are the days that I cherish. Natalie is very close to all of her grandparents in one way or another. They all have a special bond and each one of them all have their special way of making Natalie feel like the princess granddaughter that she is. Thanks Grandmas and Grandpas!

May 15 - Bon Voyage
The girls are playing so nicely together. I really enjoy that. Not only b/c it allows me some extra time to get a few things done with only one little person following me around, but b/c it's just something I have envisioned since the day we found out we were having Amanda. I just know how fun it was to have a sister to play Barbies with, etc. and I wanted that for my little girls. Now, don't get me wrong, they have their moments, but, they are few and far between. Here are the girls in their 'boat' ready to 'sail'. They have taken advantage of me being on the phone with Grandma and emptied the toy box, some dress-up, play kitchen (for their food supply!) They have everything they need! Bon Voyage!

Mommy's Birthday! May 14th!
Well, I my birthday was on May 14th. I actually had forgotten about it the couple of days up to it. We celebrated w/family over Mother's day weekend and when my birthday rolled around mid-week, well, I was just consumed with every day life and had forgotten until I got a voicemail from my Grandma Van the night before. What a lovely surprise. And I was like, "Oh, yea, it's my birthday tomorrow." Although I love my life and am so happy I have survived another year (haha!) birthdays are just not the same. I don't feel my age (you'll have to ask me if you don't already know!) and I think it sounds wierd actually, to say my new age. So, anywho, the highlight of my actual birthday was when I picked Natalie up from preschool and I looked thru her backpack and saw this:
She is writing so well now. Neat too, for her age, I think. Anyway, she said her teacher whispered in her ear "Your's in the best one!" So, I decided to surprise her and we went to McDonald's for ICE CREAM! We always go thru the drive thru unless we are having a special day where we go in to the McDonald's w/the Playland. But, we were just going to our local MD's so I parked, got all 3 kids out of the van, went in, got a high chair for Ry, discussed with the girls what they wanted (cone, sundae) and went to place our order and they said "The ice cream machine isn't working right now." I was like, you've gotta be kiddin' me! So we had cheeseburgers and chocolate cookies instead. It was a special day, not because of my birthday, but because of what Natalie is accomplishing in her little life and I love taking moments like this to celebrate the small stuff. Thanks Natalie, for making it so easy on Mommy and Daddy. You are so sweet, smart and sassy! We love you!
