August 29 - Natalie's First Day of Kindergarten

So, here it is. The big day. The day everyone was talking about the day Natalie was born. They all said, "Just wait, time goes so fast, she'll be off to kindergarten before you know it." And I just brushed all of that off and wanted to enjoy every second with our new baby. Well, fast forward 5 years, 2 more kids, a move back to IL and here we are. The Big Day. But we are ready for it. Natalie is so smart (really!) and ready for the challenges that are ahead. She is eager to learn and loves to make new friends. She is beautiful, sensitive (like her Mommy), happy, curious, generous, did I mention smart? Haha! She is everything that Daddy and I ever envisioned and much much more. She is simply amazing. She is Natalie Katherine. We love you sweetie pie.

Here is the Kindergartner!

The guests arrive!

The big day starts off with a nutritious breakfast of Disney Princess Waffles

Here is our big girl!

Papa Dan gave Natalie a pretty leotard for all of her hard work to get to KINDERGARTEN!

She arrives with her entourage at her first day of school

Natalie is in the ultimate Kindergarten school girl outfit, don't you think?! Navy blue Mary Jane's, ruffle socks, Petite Mademoiselle french dress, curly Q pretties and of course her Ariel backpack and Kit the American Girl doll (for moral support!)

Natalie is escorted to the door, by Grandma Catey, Amanda and Papa Dan. She looks like she's getting a little nervous at this point.

Nerves are setting in for Natalie. We'll always be here for you babe. We love you.
A peek over Daddy's shoulder and a hug from Daddy makes it so much easier.

Almost time...

A little more Daddy time..

Bye!

There she goes...

.....Gulp....oh my, My Baby Girl, My Big Girl is off to Kindergarten. You'll do great hon. You are going to love it. We are SO PROUD OF YOU!

There she is after her first day of Kindergarten. I asked her how it was and she replied, "Mom, I LOVE KINDERGARTEN!"

Grandma Catey came back to pick up Natalie to take her to McDonald's as a reward for getting thru the first day of school. Amanda is so proud of her big sister too! What a day.
