Grandma B. had a massive heart attack (but no permanent damage, come to find out) and ended up in the hospital. things were looking very grave within those first hours....so I packed the kids and I up, Mom came over and we headed out of town within a few short hours. As we got about an hour away from the hospital, we got a call that things had taken a turn for the worse...we made it and over the next 2 days Grandma improved dramatically. What a miracle. A trip that looked to grave from the start ended up being a very fun few days for us and the kids as we visited Grandma in the hospital, stayed over night in a hotel w/a pool...the kids thought they were on vacay....and I guess, they kind of were.

Perkins for dinner, right next door to the hotel. Look how sunny and beautiful it is...well while we were eating, things had turned really dark and nasty and a big storm rolled in! It poured. And by the time we were leaving...the storm had passed! Weird!

Natalie LOVED having a blow dryer in the hotel rooms. She looks serious here, but lemme tell ya, she was having a ball stylin' that hair!!
