April 7 - Election Day

Grandma treated us to lunch at McDonald's to keep her mind off the election taking place that day. We ran in to a couple of Amanda's friends from pres-school there. Here she is w/her friend Angelina!!!

We all gathered at the Rec for a party as the election results came in...Amanda plays shy, Sydney has some apple juice and Lisa eats some good food!

Mom didn't win....but she is still Alderman for 2 more years. She ran a great campaign and we are all so proud of her!

April 5 - Ryan sleeps on the floor

So I was upstairs putting laundry away and picking up. I noticed I hadn't heard from Ryan in a few minutes or so and didn't hear him playing downstairs...so I went down and here he was on the floor sleeping. I LOVE IT! Looks like he was playing w/mini Penelope and his truck.

April 4 - Supporting Grandma, Easter portraits and Virtual Baby Shower

We supported Mom/Grandma on this Saturday morning at the Lakewood Clubhouse Meet The Candidates (for Mayor) gathering.

Here are a bunch of us in our DEE LeCUYER for MAYOR and GRANDMA FOR MAYOR t-shirts!

Off to the Bunny Hop downtown. The Easter Bunny was there and we went from business to business to get treats to put in the kids' baskets.

Look, the Easter Bunny is waving at me!!!

We ran in to many people we know here in town and this is Douglas who went to gymnastics w/Amanda last summer!

Hopping along and getting lots of treats to fill up the baskets

Natalie takes a short break for a photo op

Watch out Amanda - the cougar is going t bite your head off!

Later that afternoon, we had a 20th Year Class Reunion Meeting. A bunch of us showed up and we always have way too much fun and never get enough done. This time Becky thought of having a virtual Baby Shower for Stephanie, our Ladybug in Hawaii..we Skyped her in the the help of John her hubby on their end and surprised her after the meeting w/a baby shower. We had mailed gifts before hand so she was able to open gifts and then we had cake, balloons & party favors on our end and John arranged to have the same on their end. So we all had cake 'together' while watching Steph open presents! It was the coolest thing. Steph's mom, Mrs. Lunn, was our 6th grade teacher. So she showed up w/Steph's sister Melanie to surprise Steph and it was a wonderful time!

Here is Steph's mom and sister with Steph and John on the screen

Here is the little dog we all signed for the baby

Hi Steph, it was like you were right there w/us

Here is a bunch of us afterwards out for pizza and good times

April 3 - Hop-a-Thon, Daddy/Daughter Dance & Trader Joe's

I happened to be volunteering in Natalie's classroom the day they were hopping for the Muscular Dystrophy Hop-a-Thon. It was so fun to watch the kids break out in to small groups of 3-4 and have a 5th grader help them count hops for 2 MINUTES!

Hop! Hop! Hop!

100, 101, 102...

120 jumps in 2 minutes. You would've thought Natalie thought she broke the world record for hopping....she was SO EXCITED and PROUD of herself! Mommy is so proud of her too!

What a fun thing for the kids to do. She got a postcard w/her # of jumps (120) and Grandma Diamond sponsored her $5.00 for all of those jumps! WOW!

Time for juice and snacks after all of that hopping!

Natalie is so proud of the sticker she earned for hopping!

When we returned home from school, this is what we got to see....Papa reclined in Daddy's chair w/Ry Ry fast asleep, truck in hand! I seriously love these moments and am so glad that Dad had this special morning w/Ry all to himself!

Time to get ready for Natalie's 80's themed Daddy/Daughter Dance. We scrounged thru the closets and dressers and this is the combination I came up with. I was quite surprised at how 80's it all looked once together, minus the neon colors...I asked Natalie to 'pose' for me and this is what we got! Hilarious.

Oh so pretty!

Now, this is a POSE and she did this all on her own. I mean, is this the next Madonna or what?

Ryan wanted to pose too

He looks like he belongs in GQ for Kids! Haha!

Here he is with a truck. He always has to be carrying around a truck or something like that. No dollies for this little man!

Well, after all of Mommy's hard work on putting that 80's outfit together (side ponytail and all!)...Natalie decided she wanted to wear something 'normal'. So, here she is w/her date, Daddy!

I slipped the purple flower barrette/pretty/clip in Daddy's hand to give to Natalie as her corsage...

Here it is...cute idea huh?

How sweet, a purple flower corsage from MY DADDY!

black leather jacket, check.

How do I look?

They're ready to go with their non-perishable food item as their admission fee!

Oh, don't forget the Easter Bunny purse!

Daddy and Natalie
Daddy Daughter Dance - 2009

Well, Amanda was jealous that Natalie had a 'special' night w/daddy, so she requested we go to Trader Joe's, her favorite store, and do some shopping. Fine w/me!

Amanda picks out a small rose plant for Grandma Catey

All set, I think I have everything I need, until next time! Balloons, small carts, sampling, favorite foods...we love Trader Joe's, but nobody loves it more than Amanda!
