August 9 - American Girl Store & Bitty Bear Matinee w/Grandma for Birthdays!

Grandma Catey, Mommy and the Girls head out very early in the morning to get to the BIG CITY for our big day planned for the girls' birthdays. Grandma treated all of us to the Bitty Bear Matinee play and brunch at the American Girl restaurant. We had the most spectacular time. Fancy, Fun, Food, Fantastic. Many memories were made on the wonderful day. The girls are so in to the American Girl stuff right now after getting the dolls and lots of accessories/clothes to the Kit Kittredge movie coming out and then our big day at the store.....pandemonium! The girls wore their beautiful matching dresses and had their dolls dressed in their matching dresses and off we went to the BIG CITY!

We had PERFECT PANCAKES and our view was awesome!

The waiter brought heart shaped cakes in addition to the other sweets and we all sang HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Natalie and Amanda!

Kit heads to the bathroom for a quick outfit change after brunch, before the play! Natalie's idea of course!

The girls are SO excited! And look at that double stroller people!

Pink Cupcake dresses, WOW, Amanda loves it! Then the girls look at the JUST LIKE YOU dolls!

Up, Down, Up, Down....that's what we did.....and shopping in between!

Here we are at the theatre waiting to go inside.

No pictures allowed in the theatre, but it was such a cute little play and interactive. Lots of fun. And then Natalie had to pose by the Kit Kittredge treehouse/movie stand

Autographs from Bitty Bear, Bitty Kitty and Bitty Puppy and a group photo!

Grandma splurged on matching Bitty Bear Matinee t-shirts. They are extra-special b/c the show ended Sept 1 and they will no longer have the theatre in the new location, Water Tower Place.

Natalie so badly wanted to take Kit to the beauty salon within the store. I tried bribing her with other things (I didn't want to spend minimally $10 and up to $20+ on a hair appt. for a doll....but we all know Natalie and she was not giving up. This is the one thing she really wanted to do. So, I caved and we waited in the line, which moved along fairly quickly. Well, when we got to the front of the line and picked a hairstyle for Kit, they informed us she would be ready at 3:30pm. I looked at my watch and it was only 11:30am. We would be home and Amanda would be napping by then....so we couldn't do it. Natalie was devestated. She cried and cried and I was trying to console her and tell it was my fault for not dropping Kit off when we first got there. Well, one of the hairstylists came over and had head Natalie and I and she offered to do Kit's hair, right then and there, FOR FREE!!!!! Can you believe it? Natalie said NO and after much consoling she changed her mind and 'siezed the opportunity'. So Natalie picked out 2 colors of ribbon, green and pink for Kit's hair and we watched her get her hair done right there. It was fate and meant to be. Nobody else got to do that. They had to pay and then just drop the doll off and pick her up later. What a lucky little girl Natalie ended up being. So, for all of you out there, the crying thing worked! This time!

This is how our adventure ended. Does it look like they had fun? They did, we all did! Thanks Grandma & Grandpa too!
