August 7th - Natalie and Daddy's actual birthdays

Well, the day started slow....Natalie was too tired to get up and it took her a few minutes to get excited about it being her actual birthday today. Also, let's not forget it was Daddy's birthday too! Yes, they share a birthday. It was planned that way, at least once my dr. told me I was having a c-section and we had a small window of days to choose and Daddy's birthday was one of those. So HAPPY BIRTHDAY you two.

Natalie chose to have McDonald's for breakfast on their special day. So Daddy went to get McDonald's for all of us and it was yummy!

Present time! Here she is w/her Strawberrry Shortcake styling head. I love Strawberry Shortcake!

Then Grandma Diamond came later in the morning and surprised Natalie with this GIANT Birthday card with a $5 bill inside for turning FIVE! She loved it!

Well, Grandma wanted to take Natalie and all of us to lunch for her birthday. But on the way their, we stopped at a garage sale. The lady was so nice and told us she had peacocks in her backyard. She offered to take us all back to see them. Her backyard was unbelievable. She had several peacocks, pheasants, dogs...what I called a 'fairy garden pond' and seashells from the beach scattered all over in the sand around this pond. Well, needless to say we were having fun and I felt like we were on a field trip for school or something. I didn't have my camera for the peacocks, etc. But then she offered to bring us inside to see the brand new puppies her dog had just delievered a few wks before. So, I had to run to get the camera for this. Did I mention we were at a garage sale? Haha! Anyway, the kids all loved petting/holding the puppies and of course Natalie wants one now. Boy are they cute. One day, maybe! Ryan

OK, so here we are at McDonald's for lunch. Yes, we had it for breakfast AND lunch. It WAS Natalie's birthday after all and that is what the girl wanted. Hey, if I had had a choice like that when I was 5 I would have done the same thing. Spoiled! Auntie and Sydney met us there too!

Next, I asked Natalie what else she wanted to do on her birthday....keeping things low-key after all of the partying we had already done to celebrate....she decided she wanted to go to the park. So I surprised her by going to a park in town that we haven't been to. It's by the post office and we are always in and out of there and she sees it and wants to go and we just never had. So, the girls had fun. It was super hot out that day, so we didn't stay long. But we did run in to some girls that Natalie had had gymnastics with before so that made it extra fun for the girls.

We invited Papa Dan over for dinner and to celebrate Scott, Natalie and Amanda's birthday all in one night. We had done enough celebrating and I thought I'd throw Amanda's celebration in too, that way they'd both be getting presents at the same time making it more fun for both. Natalie gets Papa makin' some stickers right when he walks in the door.

Presents!
A Dora dress for Natalie.

Homemade birthday cards the girls gave Daddy.

Happy birthday, five and thirty-seven!

Uh-oh! It's a Libby Lu box!!!!

Oh my, it's the Costume Design Sketch Book that Natalie wanted from Libby Lu!

THANKS PAPA! How did you know?!?! (Mommy!)

Barbie Mariposa for Amanda! Wow Papa! You hit the nail on the head again! Just what she wanted!

Little girl H&M pretties from us to Natalie. Groovy!

Daddy works on Mariposa's wings, which to this day do not stay on.

Piktureka game from us to Natalie. It's a lot of fun! Kind of like a 'Where is Waldo" game.

Happy Birthday was sung twice, for each of the girls.

Make a wish! Then Mommy took the cake to the kitchen and started cutting it to serve. Natalie came in to remind me that we had forgotten to sing to daddy. Oops! I get to immersed in it being Natalie's birthday usually that I DO forget daddy. I felt terrible....

So, I cut him a piece of cake and put candles in it and told him it was my plan to make his extra special by doing it this way. Haha! Poor Daddy.....well, what's the big deal about turning 37 anyway, right? Just kiddin'! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
